A fair trade wholesale supplier with long-term partners
MKS began in 1994 as Madhya Kalikata Shilpangan, a society set up by Mithu Dam to help local artisans reach export markets under Fair Trade. That is still the work. SERRV International has bought from us since 1998, Ten Thousand Villages since 2004, Fair Anita since 2016 and MadeFree since 2019.
Buyers in Europe, including El Puente in Germany, Equo Mercato in Italy and NV London Calcutta in the UK, also work with us. Partnerships like these are built on consistent quality and clear communication, order after order.

Start from our styles, finish in your colours
You do not have to design from scratch. Choose from our existing styles and we will make them in your colourways, with your labels and hangtags. If you want something exclusive to your shop, we develop it with you and sample it in 5–7 days.
Minimums start at 50 pieces per style, production takes 4–8 weeks, and we ship FOB Kolkata to importers across Europe, North America and beyond.
The fair trade story behind every piece
Your customers ask who made what they buy. Our artisans are paid above market rate, everyone we employ is over 18, and we have zero tolerance for child or forced labour. New artisans train for at least six months under a master before they join the production line.
MKS is women-led, Sedex 5-pillar (SMETA) audit compliant, ISO 9001 and BSCI, and our leather comes from OEKO-TEX, LWG and GRS certified suppliers.

Is there a minimum order for wholesale?
Yes, 50 pieces per style. That keeps orders manageable for independent fair-trade shops and concept stores while still letting importers run larger quantities on proven styles. Send us the styles and quantities you are considering and we will reply within 24 hours.
Can we buy from your existing range rather than design our own?
Yes. Many wholesale partners start from our existing bags, wallets, scarves and homeware and choose their own colourways. It is quicker than developing new styles because the pattern is already proven. You can add your own labels and hangtags too.
Which countries do you supply?
We work with brands, importers and shops across Europe, North America and beyond. Orders ship FOB Kolkata, so you or your freight forwarder take over from the port, or we can arrange freight to your warehouse. Tell us your destination when you enquire.
Are you a certified ethical manufacturer?
Yes. MKS has practised Fair Trade since 1994, and our workshop is Sedex audited. Artisans are paid above market rate, everyone employed is over 18, and leather comes from OEKO-TEX, LWG and GRS certified suppliers.
